Simon Hanselmann’s Comics and the Art of Depression

Hanselmann doesn’t romanticize depression — he serializes it. His comics are a slow burn through endless hangovers, social self-sabotage, and emotional black holes.

Megg doesn’t “struggle.” She implodes. Mogg watches. Owl suffers. Werewolf Jones destroys. And somehow, it’s still hilarious — because it’s honest.

Hanselmann draws despair like other people draw punchlines. And that’s an art.
